TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS (TA):

"...Transactional analysis is a psychoanalytic theory and method of therapy wherein social interactions (or "transactions") are analyzed to determine the ego state of the communicator (whether parent-like, childlike, or adult-like) as a basis for understanding behavior. In transactional analysis, the communicator is taught to alter the ego state as a way to solve emotional problems. The method deviates from Freudian psychoanalysis, which focuses on increasing awareness of the contents of subconsciously held ideas. Eric Berne developed the concept and paradigm of transactional analysis in the late 1950s..."

The basic philosophy of TA:

  • People are OK; thus each person has validity, importance, equality of respect.
  • Positive reinforcement increases feelings of being OK.
  • All people have a basic lovable core and a desire for positive growth.
  • Everyone (with only few exceptions, such as the severely brain-damaged) has the capacity to think.
  • All of the many facets of an individual have a positive value for them in some way.
  • People decide their story and destiny, therefore these decisions can be changed.
  • All emotional difficulties are curable.

HYPNOTHERAPY

What happens in a hypnotherapy session

There are different types of hypnotherapy, and different ways of hypnotising someone.

First, you'll usually have a talk with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree what methods your therapist will use.

After this, the hypnotherapist may:

  • lead you into a deeply relaxed state

  • use your agreed methods to help you towards your goals – for example, suggesting that you do not want to carry out a certain habit

  • gradually bring you out of the trance-like state – most people feel refreshed and relaxed

You're fully in control when under hypnosis and do not have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you do not want to.

If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state.

Hypnosis does not work if you do not want to be hypnotised.

REGRESSION THERAPY:

"... Regression therapy is a type of therapy based on hypnosis, used to determine how your subconscious impacts your day-to-day life. It can give people the satisfaction of remembering, whether correctly or incorrectly, events from the past that dictate how they currently think or behave..." (Source: https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-regression-therapy-5194495, dated 09/Feb/2025).

As a rule, regression therapy is performed as an insight into events in this life, which can sometimes be intertwined with events from previous lives.

As an insight into the previous life, regression therapy is only performed at the special request of the client.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION THERAPY:

"... Past lives have helped some unlock trauma, explain anxiety, and even given context to a disease they are living with today... past life regression therapy, a type of journey taken while in a relaxed meditative state where a person can recall - by seeing, hearing, or feeling - past lives they've lived. Who benefits most from this type of therapy? People with chronic health issues that have no known origin, those with inexplicable phobias, as well as persistent pregnancy … Past life regression therapy is also beneficial for anyone having a run of bad luck, who is trying to figure out what to do with their life, as well as a person interested in knowing if they have the ability to work as a healer or intuitive… It's not always about uncovering past traumas—sometimes, you're shown happiness in a previous life which can be inspiring and help you remember how to live a good life today. Seeing how you shined in a past life, can remind you of your worth and power…«

PROGRESSION THERAPY:

"In the realm of self-discovery and personal growth, Future Life Progression Hypnotherapy is a fascinating technique offering us a unique and profound glimpse into the paths our lives could take.  Done correctly, it has the potential to help you set new short term and future goalposts and reach new heights across different aspects in your career, health and wellness, sports and inter-personal relationships..."

Sometimes we can see into the future in regression. And similarly to regression, we can also see into the future of this life or into future lives in subsequent reincarnations in progression.

There are many hypnosis techniques. They can lead to a light trance, a medium-deep trance, or a deep trance. There are techniques in which the client does not say much - he only gives the therapist signs that he knows what is happening inside the client and, if he directs him correctly, helps him. These techniques are very suitable if the client does not want the therapist to know all the details of his "journey" into the depths of himself; such techniques are also suitable if the client and the therapist know each other, e.g. they are friends, relatives, etc.

For both regression and progression, it is important that the insights are healing for the client, that they lead them to a good, wise, pleasant, healthy, and happy life here and now, that more or less traumatic events from the past of this life or previous lives are resolved, and that an easier life is enabled in the future of this life or subsequent lives, but it is not necessary that the insights are also true.

The client can experience insights with different senses, not only with sight - you can see, hear, feel; touch, smell and taste can also be present.

ABOUT CONSULTING AND THEORY:

About consulting:

A slightly modified quote on "consulting" from my side:

"... Consulting should be oriented towards the client and towards the primary problem itself. And remember this. That we all have our own language and that when you listen to a client, you should listen knowing that he/she is speaking a foreign language and not try to understand him/her in terms of your own language. Understand the client in his/her language...

...I think it's very important to take the client seriously and meet his/her wishes. Do not exercise cold and hard judgment. And realize that people need to learn things, that you really aren't competent to teach them all the things they need. So that they can learn a lot on their own..."

And the original quote:

"...Psychotherapy should be an orientation to the patient and an orientation to the primary problem itself. And remember this. That all of us have our individual language, and that when you listen to a patient, you should listen knowing that he is speaking an alien language and that you should not try to understand in terms of your language. Understand the patient in his language…

...I think it's very important to take the patient seriously and meet his wishes. Not to exercise cold, hard judgment. And recognize that people need to learn things, that you really aren't competent to teach them all the things they need. That they can learn a lot on their own…”

About theory:

"True art is creation, and creation is beyond all theories. That is why I say to any beginner: Learn your theories as well as you can, but put them aside when you touch the miracle of the living soul. Not theories but your own creative individuality alone must decide." (quote by Carl G. Jung, source https://www.azquotes.com/author/7659-Carl_Jung/tag/art
